Someone pass the gin...
Someone pass the Gin!
This weeks we’ve seen some big progress on our new app. The last branded app we had was a 3 month process from start to having it up and running ready for members to use, this one we have given ourself 4-6 weeks ( I have no idea why but we love a little bit of pressure ).
The build is coming along nicely, with doors / window frames being added along with the brick work. The flooring was being poured in yesterday with the roof hopefully going on next week .... It’s really starting to take shape, you now get a real sense of what’s being created as you stand inside. We are most excited about our outdoor area as currently being in tier 3, and not knowing when this would change, this area will give us the option for outdoor classes but all undercover! It’s a great addition to the studio. Summer days can be spent outside in the sun or undercover when it gets a little to hot. It will have multiple uses with boxing brackets, TRX, battle rope hooks, and a special wall mounted fold away squat rack being installed so if gyms are ever told to shut their doors again we will have the option of outdoor gym sessions for members and our PT clients. Like we’ve previously said we have tried to cover all angles that will allow us to provide a service to our members no matter what Covid throws at us ..... and even when that’s a thing of the past, we will have a lovely facility that will be an in/outdoor space for members to train at.
This week has also seen us interview some awesome trainers who would bring energy and different training styles to Bodyworx. We wouldn’t go hiring anyone without running it past our members first, so each of these instructors will be asked to teach a class to you guys at some point in January with the feedback from you being an important part of our decision making.
We ended our week heading into London for a very important business meeting at the brand new Nobu Hotel. Someone once told me that just because you deserve something doesn’t always mean you can actually have it ..... Well we deserved a nice lunch and we had it, so we treated ourselves to our Christmas lunch at the Nobu restaurant. We were there anyway so it just seemed like the most logical place to have it.
It’s been a weird year for us all, but in all honesty for us it’s been our best year to date. Really stripping back, evaluating and having a think about our direction moving forward into the future has been motivating especially with having the freedom to do so and not having the feeling of being held back. The news of not only having a place to call our own after 5 years of never being properly settled plus having a say on how its built and how it will look for our members is exciting. And importantly, being able to work towards your business plan because we will have a solid secure base to call our Bodyworx home is so refreshing!
So in the grand scheme of things and what this year has thrown at ( everyone ) we as a company have seen a year that we will call out best and happiest yet. Whatever next year throws in our direction we will be ready for it and we cannot wait to do it all in a lovely, sparkly new facility with our amazing members! XX
